Considering putting wheel spacers on Defender when going away abroad to get better turning circle in mountain roads.
Apart from issue of increased pressure on wheel bearings has anyone any experience of use of these ? Any ideas of other possible concerns?
Trying to fit to 110 td5 for alloy wheels , anybody know good supplier and type should use?
Will wheel centre cap still fit?
Any ideas let me know thanks

When Ashley fitted them to his Hybrid and drove upto Langdale Quest he found that he could not undo one of the wheel nuts as it was spinning in the spacer so we had to lever the wheel off using a hi lift jack , destroying the alloy wheel along with the wheel spacer. We have had other issues with spacers but the Lane we were travelling along was extreme and narrow, best talk to Gary on that one he won't have forgotten that one in a hurry.

Thanks , principal concern is trying to reduce turning circle on tight mountain roads.

I am running modulars on my 90 and have a very good turning circle so would recommend them , also steel wheels are less prone to bead leaks than alloys so if astetics are not as important as reliability, steel wheels win every time in my opinion.

Hi, i was reading about common upgrades that owners do to their landys in one of the mags recently and thought you may want it brought to your attension, if you didnt know already, when buying replacement wheels. the spec for the 90 is different to the 110 and because of that to fit 90 spec rims to a 110 would not only invalidate your insurance but be potentialy dangerous

I have had QT spacers on my Defender and done everything with them fitted with no problems, however the QT spacers are very tough steel spacers.
