A good crowd of Land Rover Fanatics & public braved the elements on Sunday for the ‘60th Anniversary’ Concours day at St. John's, Stone. Although the set-up crew got pretty soaked during the morning the wind & rain gave way to some sunshine for the afternoon.
The Chiltern Air Ambulance display trailer, managed by Gary & Becky was a special feature for the ‘60th anniversary’ and added to the event, creating significant interest.
Tickets for the raffle continued to sell, contributing to the final total of £1691.00 overall.
As usual, the BBQ stall was very popular. Panic buying during the lunch period resulted in burger stocks running out early in the afternoon. However sales recovered later with the arrival of fresh supplies from Tesco. (Thanks to Ali, Mark & Neil for their efforts)
Kids V Adults football match..
It was a game of two halves. The first 30 min period finished level after a late equalizer from the kids (1-1).
The Adults handicap of playing with welly boots or bare feet did little to stop a rout of goals from the oldies in the second half of the match.
The kids combined well to score several goals and at the end of the 60 minutes it was decided to go to penalties.
The kids won the penalty shoot-out but Jeremy revealed that the victors of the challenge would be decided upon the result of the later scheduled Tug-o-War event!

The Bootyful Game!
Tug-o-War..
The final of the tug event Men Vs Women & Children resulted in a shock defeat for the Men!
The kids did a ‘lap-of-honour’ after being presented with the trophy by Jeremy.
